The highly advanced and versatile "STRATOS Awareness One" in-house software delivers real-time and comprehensive situational awareness for joint tactical planning and operations. Beyond early warning and situation analysis capabilities for eleven natural and non-natural disaster hazard types, the software is also capable of delivering multi-disaster impact simulations for joint exercises and extreme situation contingency planning. In corporation with "STRATOSPHERE (STRATOS Hybrid Operations Center)" multi-level designs, the two create an integrated system that has the capability to manage multiple joint operations at the same time, and seamlessly adapt to ever-changing situations and needs.


Sixteen Years After 2004 Indian Ocean Megathrust

Moving forward from supporting BNPB's Multi-Hazard Early Warning System and ICT Master-Plan, STRATOS now returns its focus on tackling priority issue, national defense. The Indian Ocean Megathrust on December 26th 2004 caused magnitude 9.2 Richter scale earthquake and tsunami that resulted in well over two hundred thousands deaths and trillions worth damages. Today 16 years after the event, how prepared are we to face similar, stronger, and more complex disasters. Despite setbacks from Covid-19 pandemic, disaster management and operations remain as company's top concern and business priority.


Planning for Indonesian Multi-hazard Early Warning System

On November 27, 2019, The World Bank Board of Executive Directors has approved US$160 million loan to strengthen Indonesia's disaster preparedness. This momentous milestone marks the beginning of the realization for Indonesia's ambition to invest in world-class end-to-end multi-hazard early warning platform and comprehensive disaster resilience. CEO of STRATOS: "This took more than four years in planning, and the last two years have been intense and arduous especially with the two wake-up calls--Lombok and Palu. The planning might not be smooth and the execution might not be perfect, but that's where we come in."


STRTOS Continues to Help Indonesia in Resilience

STRATOS Hybrid Operations Center (STRATOSPHERE) along with several other key departments and facilities will be deployed over the course of several years to reinforce the growing project themes. This is partly motivated from the successes of having developed key national Operations Center and promoting various G2G collaborations in disaster early warning systems including the latest Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems architecture design concepts at the Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority. The team now aims to enter the next phase of business plan by working together with several pioneers in infrastructure management and research organizations.


Indonesia's Hybrid Op-Center Running Point at BNPB

Ahead of schedule in December 2017, the newly integrated and upgraded prevention and preparedness Operations Center was immediately tasked to monitor and manage the Mount Agung disaster in Bali province and other disasters in Indonesia. Vast amount of information was visualized and collaborated in real-time between stakeholders. Newly implemented IPO sub-systems helped entire operations run more effectively and efficiently. This success marks BNPB's first in true systems integration, and Indonesia's first in real-time multi-stakeholders visual situational awareness collaboration in disaster scenarios.

Following from the success in 2016 joint cooperation, STRATOS is working with The Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority to further integrate multiple infrastructure platforms. The goal is to further streamline the entire concept of operations from the conventional situation analysis facility into a modern fully functional prevention and preparedness Operations Center. Once completed, common situational awareness of any or multiple disasters will not only be visualized by one facility, but also visualized, shared, and controlled in real-time by other units, agencies, rapid response teams, and other stakeholders.


Successful Joint Cooperation with BNPB

Two weeks ahead of schedule in December 2016 marks the official completion on joint cooperation with BNPB, the Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority, on the development of a national situation analysis facility. Included in the facility is a sustainable and integrated network of systems that enables common situational awareness for preparedness, asset real-time tracking, future interagency Multi-Hazard Early Warning System, and more. This capacity to visualize and streamline large amount of data in a focused environment is a big step for all future disaster mitigation and preparedness operations in Indonesia.


Situation Analysis Facility at BNPB, Indonesia

STRATOS is working together with BNPB, The Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority, to develop a national situation analysis facility. It will operate 24/7 and connected to national disaster management infrastructure including interagency information exchange on early warning. Streamlining various different systems, standard operating procedures, and capacity development program, the situation analysis facility will be more than just a test-bed for preparedness and prevention decision making at the national level--it will also be a working model for all disaster management authorities at sub-national levels.
